Efektivitas Peranan Zakat Terhadap Pengentasan Kemiskinan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the role of zakat in alleviating poverty for individuals or groups. Poverty is a common thing in various countries, one of which is Indonesia. There are still some Indonesian people who are not free from poverty due to several factors such as lack of income, no work, bad environment. Thus, the government's concern for this matter arises, one of which is forming a program, namely zakat. Zakat is property issued by people who are Muslim and given to groups who are entitled to receive it. Zakat must be paid by rich people who have sufficient assets. The rules and regulations have been set regarding how much wealth must be spent and how the assets will be distributed to people in need so that little by little the creation of social equality caused by one's economy. Funds received by mustahiq (people who are entitled to receive zakat) must use the property as well as possible to improve their standard of living. The government also makes this zakat a formal institution so that there is clarity in the management and allocation of zakat funds, namely BAZNAS.
